Mid-Week Encouragement
When Life Takes a Detour
We’ve all experienced those moments when life doesn’t go according to plan. It’s frustrating, confusing, and can even shake our faith. We find ourselves asking, “God, where are You in all of this?” But remember, God’s perspective is so much bigger than ours. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us that His ways are higher and His thoughts are far beyond what we can grasp. What feels like a setback or a detour might just be God’s way of leading you toward something greater. Trust that He’s got a plan, even if it doesn’t look like what you expected. Keep seeking Him, knowing that He’s always working behind the scenes for your good.
Daily Devotion
Day 1: Embracing the Gap
Scripture: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)
Reflection: We all have expectations—about our lives, our careers, our relationships—but sometimes reality doesn’t match up. It’s okay to feel disappointed or confused, but don’t let those feelings make you doubt God’s goodness. Take a moment to identify where your expectations aren’t lining up with reality. Bring those to God in prayer, trusting that He sees the whole picture, even when you can’t.
Prayer: God, I’m struggling with unmet expectations. Help me to trust that Your ways are higher than mine and that You’re working out a plan that’s better than anything I could imagine. Teach me to find peace in Your perfect will, even when it doesn’t make sense right now.
