Saving With Purpose

Midweek Devotion: Saving with Purpose
Scripture:

We live in a culture where spending is celebrated and saving is often overlooked. Yet John Wesley’s famous words still challenge us: “Gain all you can, save all you can, give all you can.”
Saving isn’t about hoarding or fear—it’s about stewardship. When we save wisely, we create margin. Margin allows us to meet needs when they arise, to give generously when God calls, and to live without the crushing weight of financial fear.
Think about it: saving is really an act of trust. It’s saying, “God, I believe You will provide, and I will prepare to be ready to use what You’ve given me for good.” Every dollar saved with discipline today can become a tool for ministry, a resource for your family, or a blessing for someone in need tomorrow.

Reflection Questions:
  1. Am I saving with purpose, or am I simply consuming without thought?
  2. How might God want to use my savings—not just for me, but for His kingdom?

Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for every resource You’ve placed in my hands. Teach me to save wisely, not out of fear, but out of faith. May my discipline today create opportunities for generosity tomorrow. Amen.”
