Midweek Devotion: “Let Them See It”
Scripture: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
Opening Question:
If no one ever saw how you lived, would they still know you follow Jesus?
That’s not a guilt trip—it’s a wake-up call.
Because Jesus never said, “Believe quietly.”
He said, “Shine.”
A few years ago, a man got a call from his coworker late at night. The coworker was going through a crisis and didn’t know who else to call.
When asked, “Why me?” the man was surprised by the answer.
“You don’t preach to everyone… but you’re different. You treat people with respect. You listen. You show up. I figured if anyone knew what to do, it would be you.”
He never handed out Bible tracts. Never invited the guy to church.
But he lived like Jesus mattered—and when the moment came, that was the light the other man needed.
Jesus calls us to be that kind of light.
Not the kind that draws attention to itself, but the kind that helps others see.
Not flashy. Not loud. But consistent. Honest. Present.
The world is watching—not to criticize you, but to see if there’s something different in you.
And when you live your faith out loud—with compassion, integrity, and bold grace—
they’ll see Jesus.
Reflection Questions:
Prayer:
Jesus, don’t let my faith grow silent or invisible.
Help me live in a way that reflects Your heart to a watching world.
Use my words, my actions, and my presence to shine Your light—
not for attention, but so others can see the way to You.
Amen.

Reflection Questions:
- What part of your life have you kept private that God might be calling you to live more visibly?
- Are there places you’re being watched without even realizing it?
- Who in your life might see Jesus more clearly—just because of how you love or lead this week?
Prayer:

Help me live in a way that reflects Your heart to a watching world.
